ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The fruit and tape in question was the work of Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan, and it literally is just a banana duct-taped to a wall, titled “The Comedian” which appeared at the Art Basel Miami Beach exhibition 2019 formed the inspiration for Symble to recreate a large painting on canvas especially as Damien Hirst was denied buying one as it had already sold. However, subsequently has bought a number of Symble works featuring the taped bananas which forms a theme through his recent collection – its all bananas (which some might sight commenting on today’s artworld).
